Anyway it is an easy read and worth the discount price on Amazon. But, this is entertainment, not real life. As a retired cop I would say the “hero” Joe Pickett makes some really stupid decisions. Also, he writes way too much background on peripheral characters who are not central to the story. It just sort of spoiled the read for me as I hate to see such obvious errors in print. To many people, those not familiar with firearms, these errors would not be noticed. 308 Norma Magnum, he should have named it correctly. A couple of obvious errors I noticed that he should not have made: Winchester never made an AR15 rifle. Not a 5 star novel but an interesting story and likeable characters. I enjoyed the book as I like the west, especially Wyoming, hunting and a good police or in this case, a Game Warden story.
